Prior to writing this post I haven’t really worried much about the language and grammar so readers pardon. I am just penning down my thoughts so there might be grammatical errors and repeat of thoughts. Lately so much is written and discussed in news channels and news paper dailies about PUB Culture, woman Drinking ,smoking visiting pubs, celebrating valentine’s day I am forced but to think WE as a nation, why are wasting our energies and time in these discussions. There might mixed opinions about woman visiting pubs, drinking smoking etc but WHO are we as individuals to decide for others. I am a woman , personally I am not for drinking and smoking esp. in public but that doesn’t give me the right to walk into a pub and bash some youngsters ……….Recently in BANGALORE a young guy got drunk and was speeding at the wee hours of the morning and ran over and killed some 4 people ..Now where are these groups who are busy targeting girls and young woman …I don’t think GOD has given us ANYONE of us the right to hit or manhandle any other soul. People as individuals are responsible for their own actions let’s not become BIG Brothers /Saviors of society and Indian culture. Tomorrow I won’t be surprised if western wear gets banned in India . Is there where we are heading as a progressive NATION..As a Nation that has the fastest growth rate , As a Nation That is shining..It is sad to say but I am not sure if INDIA IS SHINING OR WHINING.. In order to progress, our thought process should change.We should be more matured in tackling our issues and problems. Let’s stop taking responsibilities of others life and take responsibilities of OUR society as a WHOLE and focus our energy towards literacy and eradicating poverty .I really wish our so called leaders who are encouraging groups out there to hunt down pubs and hit woman can work towards society’s progress .I agree in a democratic society we all have our rights to air our opinions ,but let’s do that peacefully and not scare young minds. Let’s start educating our youth towards contributing to our society and culture. Let colleges have anti-smoking campaigns and programs on ills of alcoholism. Colleges today can have tie ups with NGO’s and social groups which are actively helping our community’s growth and progress. Students can get involved in doing good in whatever way they can ,Let’s not scare our young growing minds .Lets help them grow into good human beings and have trust in us and our society. We need to have trust and faith in our leaders in order to vote and be a part of electing the right ones . As rightfully someone pointed is hitting woman our culture Makes me think now MAYBE IT IS!!!!
